Luton Town Linked With Move For EFL Championship Midfielder

There is no doubting that, following our relegation, there will be some comings and goings at Kenilworth Road.

But, having signed a plethora of signings last summer, I’m of the opinion that the majority could stay.

However, in order to engineer a quick return to the Premier League, I can see the Luton Town recruitment team bringing in a few players, especially with the Premier League parachute payments adding some cash to the coffers.

It hasn’t taken long for the transfer speculation to start with the Football League World running an article suggesting that three clubs – Ipswich Town, Fulham and Luton Town – are being linked with a move for the highly-rated Coventry City midfielder, Ben Sheaf.

A fee of £10 million is mentioned as the price Coventry City would ask for their asset but is a move, to Kenilworth Road, something I can see happening?

To put it bluntly, although he is a talented player, the answer has to be NO!

If Sheaf is to leave Coventry then I’d imagine he’d prefer a move to a Premier League club, rather than remain in the EFL Championship, even if our recruitment team could put across a decent case for becoming part of the Luton Town project.

Also, I’m not sure we’d be prepared to break our transfer record for Sheaf, it could also open a can of worms salary wise.

Indeed, if pushed, out of the three teams mentioned in our referenced article, I’d suggest Fulham are in the prime position, how about you?

Luton Town v Fulham?

Luton Town!

Luton Town!

Fulham!

Fulham!

A Draw!

 A Draw!
