ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Turns out, the ankle “tweak” that Kris Jenkins said he was dealing with a couple of weeks ago was a bit more serious than initially thought.
Michigan’s starting defensive tackle has been playing through a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in the Oct. 7 game at Minnesota, which might explain his lower-than-expected production on the stat sheet.
“He’s really been dealing with that,” defensive line coach Mike Elston told reporters on Wednesday. “He hasn’t been moving as well. He’s been fighting through it. He’s a warrior.”
