A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Thursday, September 28.
Magpies tracking Valencia midfielder
Marca claims Newcastle United are tracking midfielder Javi Guerra following his impressive start to the season with Valencia. Those claims are backed up by fellow Spanish outlet, Sport, who claim Eddie Howe’s side are among a number of Premier League sides that’ve taken an interest in the 20-year-old.

The Spanish youth international is exceeding expectations this season, but has a deal in place 2027, which includes a huge release clause in the region of €100m. The report claims talks have already started between Guerra and Valencia in order to tie him down to a longer deal, while also reflecting his rise in stature.
Local news outlet Super Deporte, claims Guerra can be “whatever he wants to be” in an article that refutes claims of just hype.
Football Insider claims Tottenham Hotspur fended off late interest from Newcastle to sign wonderkid Luka Vuskovic from Hajduk Split. The North London side confirmed the signing of the 16-year-old Croatian on Monday earlier this week.
The young defender won’t make the move to England until the age of 18, but the report claims Eddie Howe’s side made contact with Split in an attempt to sign the centre-half, but were told Spurs had already agreed a deal.
Ange Postecoglou’s side will pay a reported £8.7million for Vuskovic, who has already played already played 11 times for the Croatian club. He’s signed a deal until 2030, but will continue his development in his homeland before joining Tottenham in 2025.
