Nottingham Forest have been linked with a super move for Hull City defender as agent set for club meeting

Nottingham Forest will go in search of a number of players in the summer and one target of theirs has just been recognised as one of the best in his league.

The Reds can’t plan for the transfer market just yet. Forest are still scrapping away fighting relegation and things aren’t clear just yet.

New players will likely be required across the pitch as the Reds aim to cut their cloth accordingly amid a four-point deduction this season.

As a result of that, some players will likely leave and if star players do depart, the club will need to find replacements.

One area that Forest will definitely need to strengthen is at centre-back with a number of uncertainties with the current crop.

Murillo has been linked with top clubs, Willy Boly and Felipe are out of contract and that leaves Moussa Niakhate and Andrew Omobamidele.

Forest have been linked with a move for Hull defender Jacob Greaves and last night he was in the spotlight at the EFL awards.

Forest-linked Jacob Greaves named in Championship Team of the Week

Well, Greaves continues to see his stock rise and it looks as though a number of clubs will be keen on him during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has previously raved about Forest academy prospect Michael Dawson, with Greaves a big fan of his.

Last night, he was named in the Championship Team of the Year as the EFL awards took centre stage in the capital.

Greaves has made 39 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign, with Hull still in the mix to claim a play-off place.

In total, he’s made 173 appearances for Hull and it does feel like next season will be the one where he steps up and joins a Prmeier League club.

Forest have been linked with Greaves previously but they won’t be alone, with Aston Villa previously keen too.

Greaves would be useful Forest signing

Grant McCann used to manage Hull and he called him ‘brilliant’ when he was in charge.

Forest would welcome the chance to sign Greaves in the summer and he could prove a very useful signing.

The Reds need a more meticulous approach and the Reds have enjoyed some success with central defenders from the second tier.

Omobamidele was signed from Norwich last summer and since he got his chance to shine he’s taken it with aplomb.

Greaves could have the potential to be even better than the 21-year-old and he would tick a lot of boxes for Forest.

He’s young, has plenty of games under his belt and would hold significant resale value if he moves to the Premier League.

Forest might have to cut their cloth accordingly in the summer and that could make Greaves a very astute signing.
