Official: FORMER Colchester United Player has completed a switch back to English football.

The ex-U’s academy player has left Scottish League One club Queen of the South and joined National League South side Worthing, who lost to Braintree Town in last season’s play-off final.

Hutchinson joined the Scottish side last August and made 13 appearances for them, before joining Eastbourne Borough on loan in the second half of the season.

The 22-year-old moved to Colchester from Brighton and Hove Albion and steadily improved his standing at the U’s throughout his apprenticeship before progressing to the club’s under-21 side.

He tasted experience within the U’s first-team squad before leaving, last summer.

Hutchinson told the Worthing FC website: “I just want to try to help the team as much as I can with goals and assists and as a team.

“I think everyone knows the goal for us is to get promoted this year and I don’t think there’s any reason we can’t go and win the league.”

Worthing FC boss Chris Agutter said:  “We’re very pleased to welcome Hutch to Woodside.

“In short, he’s a goal scorer who’s scored goals at a higher level.

“He’s another young and hungry player like Cookie, Spongy, Tommy, Cash, and so many more of our group that have the big potential to really progress upwards in the game.

“Hutch is very mobile as well as being a really decent physical shape and size.

“With Hutch, Greg and Brad on top of Tommy, Cash and Nicky we have a very impressive attacking unit and we also have a nice variety in terms of style amongst that group of players.”
