Southampton midfielder Che Adams believes the Saints have taken the necessary moves to re-enter the Premier League this season.
Last season, the 27-year-old centre-forward commanded Southampton’s forward line and scored five goals, but the Saints were unable to prevent relegation.
This season, the club brought in Russell Martin, and despite a rocky start, Southampton has managed to ascend to fourth position in the Championship table.
Southampton’s management, as well as their players, have undergone significant changes, according to Adams.
Southampton are a team that belongs in the Premier League, according to the Saints star, and they have done the appropriate steps to go back there.
“There has been a lot of change with the staff and players over the summer,” Adams told the Daily Telegraph.
“I believe the club has taken the correct steps in moving forward, pushing on, and returning to the Premier League, where everyone knows we belong.”
Adams has appeared in 13 games for Southampton this season, scoring three goals and assisting on two others.
In the summer, he was a target for numerous Premier League clubs, but he stayed put.
