Steve Cooper should start Harry Toffolo against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The 28-year-old left-back came on in the 60th minute against Brentford last Saturday after Moussa Niakhate was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.
Cooper’s team appears to be lacking in the left-back position, with Ola Aina and Nuno Tavares out injured and Niakhate serving his ban.
Toffolo, a former Huddersfield player, was solid when given his chance, even assisting Nicolas Dominguez’s inch-perfect header.
Although he’s struggled for consistent game time at the City Ground, Toffolo has been the model professional.
Not once has he publicly complained about his lack of minutes, instead he puts in a shift to stake his claim for a starting position as he did against Brentford last Sunday.
Every time he puts on the colours of Forest, he gives 100% and from a fan’s perspective that is all you can ask for from a player representing your club.
Toffolo should start versus Palace.
Toffolo said after his effect in the Brentford game last weekend that it is critical for him to have an impact in whatever way possible for the club.
“I believe it is critical for myself and other players to come off the bench and make an impact like we did.”
“It just goes to show how deep we are; these are players who haven’t been on the team and are still coming in to help.” It demonstrates the group’s cohesiveness.”
He obviously has the attitude to be a success at the club, as evidenced by his cameo against the Bees.
