FRISCO – The Dallas Cowboys have some time off after moving to 9-3 – the NFL’s second-best record – with a Thursday night win over Seattle. And how to fill the time? Conveniently, the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles are set to face off on Sunday in Philly. And yes, that late-afternoon game featuring the other top NFC powerhouses will have Dallas’ attention. “I’ll be watching that game,” Dallas QB Dak Prescott said, “and then using that as a little bit of a film study.”
Also watching – and like Dak, surely hoping for a Niners win that would increase the Cowboys’ chances of catching 10-1 Philly in the NFC East and beyond – is Michael Irvin. And “The Playmaker” has a prediction.
“I’ve never been more vexed,” Irvin said on FS1’s Undisputed. “This is the hardest game I’ve ever had to pick … but I’ve got to go with San Francisco.” Irvin picked the 49ers to defeat the Eagles 31-28, meaning that San Francisco would get its revenge for the NFC Championship Game and vault themselves in contention for this season’s No. 1 seed in the conference. “This is the hardest game I’ve ever had to pick.”@MichaelIrvin88 is picking the 49ers to defeat Eagles: 31-28 pic.twitter.com/n0ytxBjpCQ — UNDISPUTED (@undisputed) December 1, 2023 Irvin’s analysis is all about deep thoughts, though he doesn’t argue when he’s presented with the idea that he might be biased because as a Cowboys booster, he’s hoping for any Eagles loss. This is a rematch of last season’s conference championship game, and it could be a preview of this season’s NFC title game, too.
