Travis Kelce reacts to bodyweight critic statements

Travis Kelce had an incredible start to 2024 by winning Super Bowl LVIII with the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, but fast forward a month and he has found himself under fire as photos of his body have gone viral, with him defending his physique by insisting, “It’s March!”

After winning the final game of the NFL season, in which he attracted criticism for his rage-fuelled moment with head coach, Andy Reid, the 34-year-old has decided he wants to enjoy eating food and taking a rest in the off-season, but not everyone is happy about that.

Photos emerged from his vacation to the Bahamas with Taylor Swift and they showed that the legendary football star has added the pounds.

Perfectly reasonable considering that the next season doesn’t actually start until September, meaning that he has plenty of time in hand to get back into shape and that’s what he reminded people of.

“It’s March!” Kelce joked on the New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason. “We’re in the same weight class right now!”

How much weight has Kelce gained? Does Swift care?

The Kansas City Chiefs‘ website lists the offensive player at 250lbs but how much weight has he actually gained? Is it a small amount leading to a big overreaction?

Perhaps it is an overreaction, but he has gained a considerable amount as Jason Kelce, who retired from the NFL recently, revealed his brother now weighs a hefty 283lbs.

So how does Swift feel about the extra pounds her latest boyfriend has put on? According to reports, she isn’t fazed by it at all.

“She loves it,” an insider said to The Daily Mail. “Travis and his dad bod is the reward he is giving himself for having an epic Super Bowl winning season.”

The average weight for an NFL tight end is 248lbs meaning that Kelce is currently 35lbs above the standard and when he’s in shape, he’s only fractionally heavier than most in his role.
