Wests Tigers’ super star player was taken to hospital as……

Wests Tigers forward Michael Chee Kam was transported to hospital following a 26-16 loss to Parramatta at Western Sydney Stadium.

Important points: Michael Chee Kam collapsed on the ground after attempting to attack Shaun Lane.
Chee Kam was conscious, according to the Tigers, before being transferred to the hospital.
The Eels won by a score of five tries to three to reclaim first place on the ladder before the end of round 11.
Chee Kam collapsed on the ground midway through the first half after attempting to tackle Eels second rower Shaun Lane.

His head collided with Lane’s hip before thudding onto the grass, causing play to halt for nearly 10 minutes until he was removed on a medicab and brought to the hospital.

Chee Kam was one of three Tigers who failed to finish a willing contest, with Adam Doueihi and Sam McIntyre retiring early with concussion.

Former Tigers second rower Ryan Matterson was also ruled out of the match in the 15th minute after being knocked out by a Russell Packer carry.

Left with just 14 fit players for the final 35 minutes, Michael Maguire’s side showed plenty of character to stay within two tries for most of the second half.

But Eels winger Maika Sivo put them out of their misery when he claimed his second try in the 65th minute, sending his side to the top of the ladder.
