Declan Rice has issued an emotional message to West Ham United fans in the aftermath of his team’s UEFA Europa Conference League victory over Fiorentina.
David Moyes’ side overcame La Viola 2-1 in the final on Wednesday, due to a last-minute Jarrod Bowen goal, to claim their first championship in over 40 years. Rice’s final game in a West Ham shirt appears to be the enthralling encounter in Prague, with Arsenal making the 24-year-old their priority target ahead of the summer transfer season.
The Gunners are sure they have made a strong offer for Rice, but believe it will ultimately be up to the player to decide, despite interest from a slew of other prominent European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
The north London club is determined to avoid a bidding battle, and they have already shown that they are willing to walk away from top targets such as Lisandro Martinez and Mykhailo Mudryk, who finally joined Manchester United and Chelsea, respectively. Arsenal are planning an official bid for the England international, having waited until after the Hammers’ game against Fiorentina out of courtesy.
