According to Christian Falk, Union Berlin striker Sheraldo Becker has switched advisors in order to secure a desired Premier League move this summer, with West Ham United being the favorite to sign him.
Becker had a fantastic season in the German Bundesliga, scoring 11 goals and making seven assists in 32 games, and the Daily Mail claimed on 15 May that the German club was expecting offers this summer.
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed [16 May] that the Hammers are interested in the player, with Fulham and Burnley also interested. Fabrizio Romano also confirmed West Ham’s interest, with the striker expected to complete a huge deal.
According to Christian Falk of Sport BILD, writing in Romano’s CaughtOffside Substack column [10 June], West Ham United are the “biggest prospect” for the 11-goal striker, with Union Berlin asking roughly €20 million (£17.1 million) to sell.
The striker wants to transfer to England and has changed advisors to assist seal the deal.
With West Ham United officially certified as European champions following their thrilling and historic Europa Conference League win against Fiorentina on Wednesday [7 June], there will be a drastic shake-up at the London Stadium during the summer transfer window.
With key players such as Declan Rice and Michail Antonio expected to leave the East Londoners this summer, there could be enough of cash to spend. The former could be transferred for more than £100 million.
Antonio’s influence will undoubtedly be missed in East London, which means West Ham United will require a strong successor, and Becker is the ideal alternative, especially given his outstanding season thus far.
Becker shares similar qualities to the Jamaican international in that he is incredibly quick, agile, strong, and a fantastic workhorse off the ball as well as an influential presence on the break, implying that the West Ham United faithful will certainly welcome him.
The 28-year-old speed merchant appears to be ready for a move elsewhere and is at an age when he should be trying to advance in his career, and there is no better platform to do so than in the Premier League.
Even better, with the Irons now playing Europa League games next season, there may be no greater platform than the London Stadium.
