Speaking to the club’s media team, Callum had this to say.

“I’m really excited to join the Club. I spoke to the Manager, and he told me about the project, and it definitely was the place I wanted to come and play my football.

“The timing of signing couldn’t be better. It’s the perfect time for me to come in and meet all of the lads on the tour and it will be a nice way to settle myself in.

Sebastian also spoke with the club’s media upon his arrival.

“I’m delighted to get the deal done. I can’t wait to get started and show everyone what I can do,” he said.

“It’s going to be a great going to the USA and Canada. I’ll hopefully get some minutes and the opportunity to impress and get my season started.

“I want to help take the Club as high up the table as we can and add both goals and assists to my game and also the team’s.”

Who are the new duo?

Firstly Callum has had a whole host of clubs throughout his career, starting off coming through the Shrewsbury Town academy, with numerous non-league loan spells throughout a four-year stay with The Salop going on to make only one appearance for the first team. He was on the move ahead of the 17/18 joining Hull City before being sent out on a one-month loan to Salford City.

Ahead of the 18/19 season the keeper then headed out on loan to Chesterfield playing 22 games. Upon the expiry of his contract with The Tigers, he joined Cambridge United where he joined his now teammate Paul Mullin and helped Cambridge to the League Two title appearing a total of 50 times. He then joined Plymouth Argyle after two years, winning promotion to the Championship. He left Plymouth in the Summer having played 32 games and keeping 11 clean sheets.

Sebastian 21, a versatile defender came through the youth ranks at Aston Villa with his first loan spell being with Grimsby Town in the 21/22 season where he spent six months after only playing seven games. He was then immediately sent on loan to Hereford United playing 24 times. For the 23/24 season, he joined then Championship side Rotherham United on loan appearing 36 times in the league but the season ended in relegation for The Millers. The defender leaves Aston Villa after making one appearance for the senior side which was in a UEFA Europa Conference League Qualifier against Hibernian.

Competition for places

The signing of Callum is a statement from Phil Parkinson to showcase that no place is guaranteed this season, especially after they signed Okonkwo earlier in the season. Callum brings a promotion-winning pedigree from League One to a Wrexham side which doesn’t have an abundance of appearances at the League One level. Callum also now being 27 has only really had two full seasons of consistent game time at Cambridge United so he will want to showcase that he is more than capable of taking that Number 1 jersey for the season.

Sebastien adds versatility and quality to the Wrexham backline having played at a higher level last season. The defender is capable of playing in the centre, of defensive or in either full back or wing back positions. This makes him an extremely valuable member of the squad especially when rotation is key throughout the season. We may see Sebastian operating either on the right wing-back position or one of the three centre-back positions with, Wrexham having Jacob Mendy and James McClean fighting over the left wing-back role.
