Phil Parkinson reveals how Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds really feel about Wrexham

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have been in charge of Wrexham for well over three years now.

Wrexham have been owned by Hollywood duo Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds since February 2021 following the pair taking control of the Red Dragons from their Supporters Trust.

The decision from two American actors to buy a small club in Wales who have never played in the Premier League and had been kept out of the EFL for over a decade was pretty odd.

Some supporters likely feared it was nothing more than a PR stunt and it would, in the long run, hurt the club.

Those same fears are likely currently shared by Tranmere Rovers fans amid speculation A$AP Rocky wants to copy McElhenney and Reynolds and buy their club.

However, there is some hope for Tranmere that the A-list celebrities could actually help their club if they follow in the footsteps of Deadpool and the Always Sunny star.

Phil Parkinson shares how Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds feel about Wrexham

After a 15-year stint in the National League, Wrexham’s owners have helped them rise all the way up to the top of League One.

The Welsh outfit have been backed heavily on and off the field since the duo joined and now well over three years have passed since they took charge, they seemingly remain very heavily invested in the club.

Speaking recently, Phil Parkinson shared how the pair feel about Wrexham, revealing both Rob and Ryan remain ‘really invested’ and have both spoken to him recently.

He said: “Without a doubt. Rob and Ryan are so invested in the club. I spoke to Rob in the hotel on Friday and he was asking about the team, asking about a few of the players also we’ve got a couple of injuries recently so he was asking about those lads.

“And Ryan sent me a message last night after the game. They watch every game you know they love it when they come over, and obviously work commitments restrict that but yeah of course they’re really invested.”

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Wrexham transfer claim

One area Reynolds and McElhenney have excelled in since taking over Wrexham is the transfer department.

Amid injuries this past week, the Red Dragons have signed Matty James and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on free transfers to provide cover while Jack Marriott, Steven Fletcher and George Evans are sidelined.

Elsewhere, EFL pundit Carlton Palmer made an exciting McElhenney and Reynolds Wrexham transfer prediction ahead of January.

The former player also shared his thoughts on Wrexham wing-back Ryan Barnett attracting transfer interest but believes the club will not sell him.
