Wrexham picked up another victory on Saturday afternoon as Phil Parkinson masterminded a 3-0 derby day victory over rivals Shrewsbury Town.
Wrexham had enjoyed three fine results heading into this derby day clash against Shrewsbury Town.
A 0-0 draw at Bolton Wanderers was a superb battling performance before sweeping aside Reading and Peterborough United.
Three clean sheets in a row was a hugely impressive record and Wrexham have now made it four in a row.
Wrexham beat Shrewsbury 3-0 with Ollie Palmer, Elliot Lee and Jack Marriott all on the scoresheet.
Ryan Reynolds loved seeing Lee’s goal come through on social media and Rob McElhenney has been giving his reaction too.
Rob McElhenney on Phil Parkinson
McElhenney’s first reaction to the victory was to send a message to Tom Brady.
Wrexham’s next game is against Birmingham City and the game has major celebrity involvement.
McElhenney told Brady to expect an ‘absolute banger’ when Wrexham travel to take on Birmingham next week.
The Wrexham co-owner has also offered up some praise for manager Phil Parkinson though, having seen Wrexham enjoy another big win.
McElhenney was responding to a social media post which highlighted that Wrexham now have more points since the start of the 2022-23 season than anybody else in the top five divisions of English football.
That tally now stands at 212, leaving Wrexham even ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
McElhenney noted that this record is all down to Parkinson; forget the Hollywood ownership, it’s Parkinson who is masterminding the rise.
McElhenney added ‘In Phil we trust’, showing that he and Reynolds have so much faith in the Wrexham boss.
And it’s all because of this man.

Parkinson continues to work wonders
Yes, Wrexham have spent decent money in terms of transfer fees and wages, putting together a strong squad for League One action.
Money doesn’t guarantee success though; you still need the right manager, the right culture, the right people making the big decisions.
Wrexham appear to have that and Parkinson has been the spearhead of this rise up the leagues.
Some displays last season were a little frustrating and the football under Parkinson is solid if unspectacular.
Make no mistake though, back-to-back promotions is an incredible feat and Wrexham now sit top of League One too.
It’s early days but a third promotion in a row would be truly unbelievable, even with Wrexham’s financial backing.
McElhenney is clearly right behind Parkinson and even if tough times come this season – which they may well do given the quality of the league – it looks like Parkinson will have the faith of the owners to move forward.
