Wrexham continue to hunt for new signings and Phil Parkinson may have another target in mind after sealing the signing of defender Dan Scarr.
The League One season is just a week away and Wrexham can be delighted with the summer business so far.
Five deals had been secured with Arthur Okonkwo, Callum Burton, Lewis Brunt, Sebastian Revan and George Dobson all signing on the dotted line.
Wrexham made it six signings for the summer on Friday though, completing the arrival of free agent defender Dan Scarr.
Scarr, 29, arrives with plenty of experience from his spells with Walsall and Plymouth Argyle.
The defender will now bolster Phil Parkinson’s options at the back but a new striker may become the next big priority.
Wrexham want Kieran Bowie
Wrexham do have some striking options with Jack Marriott and Sam Dalby leading the line in Saturday’s friendly win over Fleetwood Town.
Ollie Palmer was on the bench but fellow substitute Jake Bickerstaff is unlikely to be a major factor in League One.
Steven Fletcher may be given a reduced role this season and Paul Mullin underwent surgery earlier this summer.
Phil Parkinson is expecting to see Mullin back in training soon but another striker may just ease the pressure on the returning hitman.
The Mirror (02/08, 20:00) report that Wrexham are in the race to sign Fulham striker Kieron Bowie.
It’s claimed that League One clubs Barnsley, Peterborough United and Wigan Athletic are also in the mix for Bowie.
Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers fancy Bowie too whilst Hibernian are interested in taking him to Scotland.
The 21-year-old could leave on loan or permanently this summer as Fulham weigh up a number of options.
Bowie hails from Scotland and broke through with Raith Rovers before signing for Fulham as a teenager.
Bowie has yet to play a single first-team game for Fulham but scored 14 times in 85 games during a two-year loan spell at Northampton Town.
Wrexham looked at Marc Leonard – a Scottish talent who spent two years on loan with Northampton – as well, but he has joined Birmingham City.
Wrexham may hope for better luck with Bowie, who has been hailed as a ‘high quality player’ by Cobblers boss Jon Brady whilst speaking to the Northampton Chronicle.
Young strikers on Wrexham radar
Bowie is a big presence at 6ft 3in tall but has operated out wide, proving that he isn’t just a target man.
The Scotland youth international has plenty of potential and is just the latest young striker to be linked with a move to the STōK Cae Ras.
Wrexham are keen on Bailey Cadamarteri and are thought to be leading the race for the Sheffield Wednesday striker.
Wrexham have also targeted Will Lankshear but face competition from Hull City and Sunderland for the Tottenham Hotspur talent.
Bowie appears to be on the Wrexham list too with Phil Parkinson seemingly feeling that a young forward will be the ideal complement to his experienced options.
