All five summer signings – Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Callum Burton and Sebastian Revan – featured against the Cherries and are set to be involved this evening for the second match in California.
Parkinson feels the tour is the perfect way to integrate new arrivals and he is targeting more fresh faces before the season starts at home to Wycombe Wanderers in front of what will be a bumper gate at The Racecourse on August 10.
“Arthur was with us on loan last season and knew us anyway but the new signings have fitted in well with the group,” said the Reds’ boss.
“There is nothing better when you are a new signing to get to know your team-mates on a tour like this.
“The squad is not there yet but hopefully we are getting there.”
Midfielder Dobson, who spent the last three seasons at League One rivals Charlton Athletic, is looking forward to facing Chelsea.
“It is another amazing game,” the 26-year-old told the club’s YouTube channel.
“A brilliant experience to be able to play against these Premier League teams and visit new places.
“Another great test against Chelsea and there will be even more support, I am really looking forward to it.”
