Wrexham continue to search for new signings and a new striker appears to be a key focus for boss Phil Parkinson.
We are now into August and subsequently the final month of the summer transfer window
Wrexham have already done some fine business this summer but the deadline is fast approaching – and more additions are needed.
Phil Parkinson will be happy with his window, headlined by the permanent signing of goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo.
George Dobson offers League One experience, Callum Burton provides quality cover for Okonkwo in goal and left wing back Sebastian Revan has enjoyed a strong start.
Add in Wrexham hijacking Peterborough United for Lewis Brunt and this has been a positive window.
Wrexham move for Bailey Cadamarteri
Parkinson will naturally want more signings before the window ends; as most managers will!
A striker is bound to be a priority for Wrexham in the final week of the window.
Wrexham’s star goalscorer Paul Mullin has undergone surgery this summer and may miss the opening stages of the season.
Parkinson does have other options at his disposal with Jack Marriott, Ollie Palmer, Steven Fletcher and Sam Dalby all available.
A loan signing could be ideal though and The Sheffield Star report that Wrexham have ‘shown an interest’ in taking Sheffield Wednesday striker Bailey Cadamarteri on loan.
It’s stated that the Owls would prefer a loan to a sale and a host of League One clubs are keen.
Blackpool, Huddersfield Town and Stockport County are all interested in Cadamarteri whilst Dundee United and Motherwell could offer moves to Scotland.
Cadamarteri is the son of former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri and has come up in the Wednesday ranks.
Five goals in 26 senior games for the Owls is a decent return and Cadamarteri has been hailed for having ‘special’ traits by boss Danny Rohl whilst speaking to The Yorkshire Post.
Cadamarteri an alternative to Will Lankshear
Cadamarteri has picked up four caps for England at youth level but has received major interest from Jamaica in recent times.
The teenager may now need a loan move to really accelerate his development and Wrexham could offer that chance.
The interest comes just as Wrexham also chase Cadamarteri’s England youth teammate Will Lankshear.
Wrexham want to sign Lankshear on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and have made enquiries into a deal.
Lankshear is also wanted by Hull City and Sunderland though, leaving Wrexham to consider alternatives.
Cadamarteri appears to be one of Wrexham’s other targets, with a young striker to support the experienced hitmen a potential focus for Parkinson.
