Leicester City beat West Ham in hot race to sign 26-year-old attacking midfielder wizard

Leicester City have registered their interest in signing Coventry City ace Callum O’Hare, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old will be available on a free transfer this summer, with his Sky Blues contract expiring in June.Sources told Football Insider on Tuesday (30 April) that the attacker has told his current club that he will leave in the summer transfer window. Aston Villa, West Ham and Southampton are all interested in signing the player ahead of the new season.

Now, Leicester are pushing hard to land a player who is eager to prove himself in the Premier League.

O’Hare has registered 10 goals and four assists in all competitions this season, helping Coventry reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Leicester City join chase for Championship star
The former Villa attacker scored four goals in this season’s tournament, including one in the semi-final defeat to Man United.

He has also scored six Championship goals, where Coventry are currently aiming to achieve a top-10 finish, with the club sitting in ninth place with one match left to play.

It remains to be seen who will win the race for O’Hare, but a Premier League place is likely given the interest from the Foxes, Villa and the Hammers.

Southampton meanwhile could return to the top flight next season having secured a play-off spot, with the Saints currently fourth in the Championship table.

Leicester could lose a star of their own this summer, with sources telling Football Insider last month that Tottenham will go head-to-head with Brighton and Brentford in the race for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
