Abdul Fatawu send four word powerful message to fans after winning Leicester City’s Men’s Young Player of the Season

Abdul Fatawu took stock on an unforgettable campaign after winning Leicester City’s Men’s Young Player of the Season award on Tuesday.

Voted by the Blue Army, the Ghanaian secured the YPOTS prize after a remarkable year at King Power Stadium, scoring seven goals and registering 13 assists as the Foxes won the Sky Bet Championship title.

Restoring Leicester’s Premier League place after just one year away, it’s a season which has required huge effort levels from Enzo Maresca’s men – and Fatawu is proud of the role he’s played.

“I’m feeling so happy,” he said on Filbert Way this week. “It’s an amazing moment. This is a season I can’t forget. I’m just feeling so happy. We were always working towards the promotion and it feels amazing to get to what we wanted.

“Everyone is happy and that’s what we wanted to achieve. It feels so great.”

Fatawu: I Won’t Forget This Season

Fatawu won a category which also included the likes of Kasey McAteer and Callum Doyle and the on-loan Sporting Lisbon winger paid tribute to his team-mates when accepting the award.

“They’re good players as well,” he added. “I just feel privileged to get this. They are also good and they did well like me. It feels so amazing [to win the Championship] and how everyone – the supporters – is showing love.

“It feels so good to be around these kind of people. My favourite game is the last two games. Against Southampton, that was amazing for me and a night I won’t forget. My favourite goal has to be against Bournemouth!”
