BREAKING NEWS: Kieran Maguire finally reveal Nottingham Forest to be hit by £70m blow Kieran Maguire

Nottingham Forest would lose around £70million in revenue if they suffer relegation this season.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that relegation to the Championship would “hit them hard”

Forest currently sit 17th in the Premier League table – just one point ahead of Luton Town in the relegation zone.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have three games remaining to secure their Premier League future.

Forest are currently awaiting the verdict of their appeal to a four-point deduction received earlier this season.

The club will hope to regain points if their appeal is successful.

Maguire explained that relegation this season would inflict a major blow to Forest with their revenue set to drop by £60-£70million.

“If Forest are relegated then we are looking at somewhere in the region of a £60 to £70 million reduction in revenue,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

This will hit them hard.

They spent an awful lot of money getting to the Premier League and staying in the Premier League over the course of the past couple of seasons.

Of course the fans, management and owners want to see Forest play at the highest level.

So there’s a financial cost and there’s an emotional cost as well.
